1. Who operates the app
Benn Brown, trading as The Person I'm With.
Contact: hello@thepersonimwith.com
2. What the app is
The Person I'm With is a personal reflection tool. The app helps users complete check-ins, write notes, view patterns over time, and reflect on their thoughts and feelings.
The app is designed to support self-reflection. It does not make decisions for you and does not tell you whether to stay in or leave a relationship.
3. What the app is not
The Person I'm With is not therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, crisis support, counselling, relationship counselling, or a substitute for professional help.
The app does not provide emergency support. If you are in immediate danger, feel at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent support, please contact emergency services or a qualified professional in your area.
4. Who can use the app
You must be at least 16 years old to use The Person I'm With. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 16. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 16 to create an account.
5. Your account
You may need to create an account to use the app. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity that happens through your account.
If you think your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact us at hello@thepersonimwith.com as soon as possible.
6. Free features
Most of the app is free to use. Free users can:
- Complete daily check-ins
- Write notes or reflections
- Use their chosen focus areas
- View patterns from the last 7 days
- Access recent entries
7. Premium features
Premium unlocks the following additional features:
- Full Notebook — access to all past check-ins and notes
- Long-Term Patterns — access to patterns beyond the last 7 days (up to 30 days)
- Weekly Summary — a summary of your week's check-ins
- Context markers — add context tags to check-ins
- Update Today's Check-In — edit or update today's check-in after saving
8. Free trial
We offer a 14-day free trial of Premium. No payment details are required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, you can choose to subscribe to Premium or continue with the free version. You will not be charged unless you actively choose to subscribe after the trial ends.
9. Premium pricing
Premium is currently available at:
- Monthly: £4.99 per month
- Yearly: £29.99 per year
- Founding Lifetime: £49 — a one-time payment available to the first 100 subscribers only
Prices may change in the future. If prices change, we will show the updated price before you subscribe or renew. Existing subscribers will not be moved to a higher price without notice and consent.
10. Founding Lifetime membership
The Founding Lifetime membership is a one-time payment of £49, available to the first 100 subscribers only. We want to be honest about what this means:
- Lifetime means for as long as The Person I'm With exists as a product. It is not tied to a specific end date, but it is tied to the continued operation of the app.
- If the app is ever shut down permanently, Founding Lifetime access will end. We will give as much notice as reasonably possible — and no less than 30 days — before any shutdown.
- Founding Lifetime membership is non-refundable and non-transferable. It cannot be passed to another person or account.
- It includes all Premium features that exist at the time of purchase, and we intend to include future Premium features as the app grows. However, if we introduce a substantially expanded tier of features in the future, we reserve the right to make those available separately.
- We are not obliged to maintain any specific feature indefinitely, but we will not remove features in a way that materially reduces the value of Lifetime access without reasonable notice.
We are offering this because we want the people who believe in this product early to benefit from it long-term. We think that's a fair exchange and we will honour it.
11. Subscriptions and payments
Premium subscriptions are processed by the following payment providers, depending on where you subscribe:
- Stripe — if you subscribe through the web app
- Apple — if you subscribe through the App Store
- Google — if you subscribe through Google Play
When you subscribe, you agree to the price, billing period, renewal terms, and cancellation process shown at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
12. Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of purchase. However, because digital content delivery begins immediately when you subscribe, by confirming your subscription you agree that the 14-day cancellation right no longer applies once access to Premium features has begun.
This does not affect your right to cancel future renewals or your other legal rights.
13. Cancelling Premium
You can cancel Premium at any time through the platform or payment provider you used to subscribe:
- Web subscriptions: cancel through the app or by contacting us
- App Store subscriptions: cancel through your Apple ID account settings
- Google Play subscriptions: cancel through your Google Play account
Cancelling stops future billing. It does not automatically delete your account or your data. You will keep access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.
14. Refunds
Refunds are handled according to the rules of the payment provider or app store you used to subscribe. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
15. Your reflections and content
You own the notes, reflections, and check-in content you add to the app. By using the app, you allow us to store and process your content to provide the app's features — such as your notebook and pattern history.
We do not sell your personal reflection data. We do not use your reflections to train AI models or for advertising.
16. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app. You must not:
- Try to access another user's account or data
- Interfere with the app's security or operation
- Use the app for unlawful purposes
- Copy, resell, or exploit the app without permission
- Attempt to reverse engineer or damage the app
17. Changes to the app
We may update, improve, change, pause, or remove parts of the app from time to time. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will always be available.
18. Availability
We aim to keep the app working properly, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. There may be times when the app is unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party services, or events outside our control.
19. Third-party services
The app relies on third-party services for hosting, authentication, payments, email, and app store distribution. These services may have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the actions of third-party providers.
20. Privacy
Your use of the app is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.
21. Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting hello@thepersonimwith.com. We will delete or anonymise your personal data where possible. Some limited information may be kept where required for legal, tax, payment, or security reasons.
22. Intellectual property
The app, design, branding, text, structure, features, and original content belong to Benn Brown, trading as The Person I'm With. You may use the app for your own personal use only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or modify the app or its content without permission.
23. No guarantees about outcomes
The app is designed to support reflection and pattern awareness. We do not guarantee that using the app will improve your relationship, reduce anxiety, resolve emotional distress, or lead to any particular outcome. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.
24. Limitation of liability
We are not responsible for decisions you make based on your use of the app. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profits, or any damage caused by relying on the app as professional advice.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be lawfully limited.
25. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will show when the Terms were last changed. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
26. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, unless mandatory consumer laws in your country give you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
